Cleansers

Your first step in good skincare is cleansing. Necessary in terms of hygiene and health, cleansing is often a common cause of problems. The harsher the cleanser, the greater risk. Ingredients do play a very critical role in whether a cleanser is considered mild, however, a very important factor in determining the mildness of a cleanser is the pH, which is seldom published and often overlooked. Most products recommended for sensitive skin have a considerable irritation effect, which is related to the high pH of the product. Numerous studies show that a cleanser with a pH close to that of the skin (5.5 pH) is less damaging and irritating to the skin than a cleanser with a 9 pH or higher.
